In line with improvements to public transport infrastructure at Thomas Cherry and PTV timetabling improvements, the bus stop at David Myers will close from last service on Sunday, 24 July 2016. The 548 continues to stop at the end of Union Drive as per the current arrangements.
All bus services that currently stops at David Myers will only stop at Thomas Cherry from Monday, 25 July 2016. Those with a keen eye will have seen further improvements at Thomas Cherry taking shape over the last few months. The new bus bays created earlier this year allow increased capacity for buses arriving and departing, and accommodate the new 301 Express Shuttle to and from Reservoir train station.
The new bus shelters will be ready for Semester 2, and include state-of-the-art solar panels to power toilets, vending and information facilities that will be in place later in the year.
This is all part of the University transport initiatives to encourage more people to choose active and sustainable modes of transport where possible.
