Volunteers wanted: City of Melbourne Seniors’ Christmas Celebration

christmas_insetEngage with your community and boost your CV with an exciting opportunity to volunteer at the City of Melbourne Seniors’ Christmas Celebration. This annual event is for older residents and senior groups that meet within the municipality.  About 360 guests will come together at the Melbourne Town Hall for an afternoon of celebrations, food, music and dancing.

This is a meaningful event, which encourages older folks to be healthy, as well as providing vital social participation – one of the keys to leading a happy life.

Your help is needed to ensure everyone has a fantastic time. Get guests up and dancing, take photos and spark interesting conversations. Many attendees come from diverse backgrounds – such as China, Vietnam, and Italy – so your cultural knowledge and language skills will be highly valuable at this event.

All volunteers are required to have a current Working with Children Check and a Police Check. Assistance is available to complete both of these checks. There will be a compulsory induction on Wednesday 16 November 2016. No experience necessary.
