Volunteers needed – International student focus group

Choosing to do university studies in another country is a big step for students, their parents and friends.

If you are passionate of improving international student experience at La Trobe, Join our international student focus group over lunch (12pm-2pm) on either Monday 31 July (Undergraduate student focus group) or Wednesday 2 August (Postgraduate student focus group). It’s also a good opportunity for you to develop your leadership and problem-solving techniques. Your feedback is highly valued by La Trobe University and will be used to implement strategies in improving international student’s experience.

The aim of the focus group is to find out:

  • How well the experience has lived up to your expectations. What have been the main challenges and the benefits as you see them, so far?
  • How culturally sensitive is the environment at La Trobe and more generally where you live and work. How much racism have you noticed during your stay in Australia?
  • What ideas do you have for improving the experience of international students at La Trobe? Issues to be discussed include: English language skills, placements, future employment, social interaction, friendships with international domestic students, experience and knowledge of Australian culture, lifestyle, etc.

Every participant will receive double movie vouchers after the focus group and enjoy a free lunch.

Register online here to secure your spot in the focus group. Successful applicant will be contacted shortly. We look forward to seeing you there!
