The Victorian Government is once again inviting nominations for Victorian International Education Awards. Awards are made on the basis of your academic achievements, community involvement, leadership skills, and ability to represent Victoria. The prize is fabulous – $10,000 per category to contribute to your study at an education institution in Victoria. An additional Premier’s Award recognises an overall International Student of the Year and a further $10,000 is awarded.
The categories are as follows:
- International Student of the Year – Higher Education
- International Student of the Year – Research
- International Student of the Year – Regional
- Victorian Student of the Year – Internationalisation
- Premier’s Award – International Student of the Year
Nominees for all other awards automatically become nominees for the Premier’s Award, so this award requires no additional nomination. Recipients will also be recognised as ambassadors of the Victorian Government’s Study Melbourne initiative and help promote the State as a leading international student destination. All the shortlisted students will be provided with professional development training through Study Melbourne. This will entail a blend of personal development and leadership skills.
Nominees for student category awards must currently be enrolled in a course being offered by a Victorian education institution, and must not be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Finalists must provide proof of their study visa.
As a valued student of La Trobe University we strongly encourage you to apply. Applications are now open and close at midnight on Wednesday 23 August 2017. For more information about awards and how to apply, please visit the Study Melbourne website or see details attached.
Good luck and we hope to see La Trobe University in the finals!
