Understanding what ‘Counselling’ means in Australia, and navigating the health care system to try to find a counsellor can be a confusing experience.
La Trobe International Student Services invites you to join us for a focus group on either Tuesday, 7 January, 10 am – 12noon; or Wednesday, 8 January, 2 pm – 4 pm. Your contributions will improve the international student experience at La Trobe University.
Location: Donald Whitehead Building, DW – 304B, Bundoora campus.
The focus group aims to:
- Review a draft brochure designed for international students that describes what counselling is, what low-cost counselling options are available, and how to find out how much the sessions will cost you.
- Gather feedback on the layout of the brochure and how accessible and easy to understand it is. What ideas do you have to improve the look and communication of information in the brochure?
- Talk about what your understanding of counselling is, whether you would consider visiting a counsellor to talk about your problems and whether this brochure will help you understand your options.
- Get your ideas for how we can improve the international student experience at La Trobe for students wanting to talk to a counsellor.
Each participant will receive a $10 voucher for Coles Group/ Myer (Can be used at Coles, Myer, Kmart, Target, Officeworks, to name a few).
Please contact Nadia at firstname.lastname@example.org to secure your spot and please state clearly your preference for which day and time suits you best.
